Beat The Winter Blues!!

As January prepares itself for February, we find ourselves in a bit of deep freeze and shovelling more white stuff than we'd like. Ahhh yes, Winter in Canada!!

Fortunately, there are several wonderful, warm establishments that are happy to provide patrons with good food, good drinks and live music! So, if you want to stay toasty over the next few weeks, here are some options for you.

Sunday afternoons are always lit with the good time torch from 1-4pm when THC- The Theodore Horner Combo takes the stage at The Legendary Canadiana. It's a sing-a-long, request filled, chill vibing kind of affair that's about to celebrate it's 3rd year. If you haven't been, it's time!!

The Trio is also back at Dum Dum's in Brampton (67 George St South). We'll be there on January 27 and then again on Feb. 24. Call for reservations ahead of time so you're sure to get a seat. Gary Taylor joins Matt and I this month, while Charlie Cooley takes the drum chair in February!

Also, as my web calendar indicates, I've got The Sunday Sinners going strong with some classic soul and R&B at Timothy's Pub and The Shebeen. Be sure to double check the calendar as there are some surprise dates coming up, like Thursday, Feb. 22 at Timothy's! That'll be a 7pm start.

Locally, meaning Hamilton for me, the inaugural Folk 'n' Spoken Word Festival is happening in June. Our opening night Gala is set for Friday June 7 at Merk Snack Bar. Then on Saturday, June 8 we've got the whole afternoon and evening filled with Spoken word and folk artists. Our goal is to highlight our Community and showcase Human Diversity. There is a lot more information coming up about this event, so stay tuned!

I can't mention Merk Snack Bar without bringing up Thursdays With Theodore, which happens on the 3rd Thursday of every month. A little solo acoustic mayhem is what it is!! Merk is the coolest, vibiest, happening bar in The Hammer...if you don't believe me, then come out and see for yourself!

More info is also coming on my show Prove It All Night - An Homage To Springsteen! I'm currently ironing out some details, but hopefully late June or early July will see me performing some classic early Springsteen for you. I've been wanting to do this show since before the COVID days!! Now I can't wait.
